Kaitlyn Burkhardt Jaidan McBride

Kaitlyn Burkhardt serves as the chair of the South-Central NC AWHONN chapter. She is passionate about the field of neonatal and maternal health, caring for underserved populations, participating in evidence-based practice, and nurse mentorship programs. She is a registered nurse and has been in the health care industry for 7 years. She has served as a medical missionary in Guatemala for 5 summers, served as a volunteer doula at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital while in nursing school, and currently as a labor and delivery nurse at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC. She was named “Rookie of the Year” at the state 2024 AWHONN conference and “The Labor & Delivery All Star” for her unit in May of 2024. She serves as a clinical educator for the Campbell University School of Nursing. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in May of 2022. She resides in Autryville, North Carolina with her husband Josiah and fur baby, a Great Pyrenees named Edison. When she’s not caring for laboring mothers and infants, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family, dancing, theater, a day at the beach and a beautiful sunset. Kaitlyn strives to leave a lasting imprint on everyone she touches. She is honored to be a member of the AWHONN community.
Jaidan McBride serves as the co-chair of the South Central NC AWHONN chapter. She is a registered nurse at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and works in Labor and Delivery caring for women, newborns, and their families. Prior to working as a nurse, she completed a certified nurse aide program which encouraged her to pursue a career in nursing. She is passionate about patient education, mental health, and improving maternal health outcomes. Jaidan received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in May of 2022. She volunteers with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and serves on the committee for maternal sepsis at Cape Fear Valley. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, visiting with family, and cuddling her three kittens. Jaidan is proud to be part of an incredible community such as AWHONN and is committed to providing excellence in perinatal care.
